Mr. Dave Geiger

Luther Principal

Welcome to the Luther School website for the 2009-2010 school year!

We are eager to begin the school year with a new sign out front on Park Street.  John Collins planned, organized, and completed this sign project as part of his Eagle Scout Project.  Thank you, John, for making our school look great!

The Luther Staff will once again be implementing the “Live Above the Line” Plan.  We had a lot of success with this implementation last year as we observed students making some great choices.  We have tweaked a few minor things to improve the plan.  As you walk through our hallways we hope you will hear and see Luther students following the BIG three ideas behind this plan:  be respectful, be responsible, and act safely.

We are planning many activities/programs that will allow your child to be involved and challenged at the same time.  For example, the Geographic Bee will take place for children in grades 4 and 5.  The Science Fair will be offered to all children and coincide with the Regional Fort Atkinson Science Fair.  The Math League Contest will challenge 4th and 5th graders on their math skills.  The Fitness Club, Mileage Club, Girls Group, and the Luther Loyalty Team will offer children the opportunity to get involved.

Many of the teachers taught summer school or had taken a class to keep them abreast on the latest and most effective teaching methods.  There have been three SmartBoards installed in classrooms with the addition of five more some time this Fall.  These interactive digital whiteboards will allow all children to actively participate in their education.

Thank you for being part of the Luther Community!  If you have questions or would like to share some ideas to improve our school, please call Dave Geiger at 568-4465.
