Girls' Group

Once again, Luther Elementary has an exciting opportunity for girls in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade!  Luther girls are invited to participate in our after school Girls’ Group, focusing upon leadership, confidence, friendship and kindness.  The group is designed to facilitate conversations about issues that may affect elementary aged girls, including positive peer relationships, self-esteem and bullying/teasing.  In addition, Girls’ Group members serve as leaders in our school and community, spreading kindness and the spirit of volunteerism!  Each year, the Girls’ Group chooses a non-profit organization and creates a unique fundraiser to support this organization.  Last year, the girls raised $250 to support the Humane Society of Jefferson County! For more information on the Humane Society, please visit: http://www.hsjc-wis.com/

Our group encourages girls to recognize their own strengths and uniqueness, as well as those of others.  Girls’ Group gives girls of various ages and diverse backgrounds the opportunity to learn from one another and appreciate differences in a positive and caring environment.

This year, the Girls' Group chose to support the Wildlife In Need Center.  So far, the girls have raised $175 through bracelet sales.  Bracelets are still available for purchase!  The Wildlife in Need Center will be visiting our group on March 5th, 2008 for a special presentation.  For more information on the center, please visit: www.helpingwildlife.org
